Volunteer Position: Digital Communications Specialist
Commitment Requested: 2 - 3 hours / week

Role Overview
The Digital Communications Specialist will be responsible for crafting and delivering the party’s message across multiple platforms. This role is ideal for someone with strong writing skills and a passion for clear, compelling communication. The volunteer will manage content creation, media outreach, and digital engagement to inform and mobilize voters, supporters, and volunteers.
Responsibilities
Content Creation: Write and edit email newsletters, social media posts, website updates, and other public-facing communications.
Messaging Strategy: Ensure that all communications align with the party’s values and strategic goals.
Social Media Management: Maintain active and engaging social media accounts, create graphics, and schedule posts.
Email & Website Management: Create email campaigns and update website content to keep supporters informed.
Event Promotion: Develop promotional materials and messaging for rallies, fundraisers, and voter outreach events.
Rapid Response: Monitor local news and political developments to craft timely responses and statements.
Qualifications
Strong writing and editing skills with experience in persuasive messaging.
Familiarity with social media platforms (Facebook, BlueSky Instagram) and digital tools like Canva.
Ability to simplify complex political issues into clear, engaging content.
Experience in communications, journalism, marketing, or public relations (preferred but not required).
Passion for Democratic values and grassroots organizing.
